Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know that I am.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.
This popular reflection is from Psalm 46:10: “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The section of Scripture it is in talks about our safety in God’s power.
Be still.
This tells us to stop fighting and to simply be still. Once we have done this we will then be able to…
Know that I am God.
We can trust Him and let His plan play out because we know who He is and what He wants for us. We can relax and be still in the knowledge of God’s loving character.
Reading and praying these words is very comforting – I have them on a little card in my purse so that every time I open it I see it. I hope you find them as relaxing as I do.

I will return for more of my 40 day Lent series tomorrow. Any suggestions are welcome for the rest of the series!
I love this Psalm, verses 2 &3 paint a terrifying picture. Yet we’re told to be still and know (experience) that he is God. There is a peace that can be found for those who will be still and trust in him, no matter what is happening around them.

Thank you for reading, I’m glad you also like the Psalm. I agree, there is great comfort in these words despite the context of the passage. God bless 🙂
