God wants us to be brave. He wants us to get out there and go for it. He wants us to step outside our comfort zone by leaving the familiar waltz and dive into a boogie.
I think trying out different ways of worship is essential. The risk of repeating the same way of worship each week is that it becomes automatic. By feeding yourself with fresh ways of celebrating God, it keeps us on our toes. It jolts us into that connection and that awareness that we desperately need.
There are many ways to liven up worship – try new music styles; express yourself through singing songs from deep down in your heart; be bold and most importantly be yourself – if that means wearing purple, go for it!
God knows us for who we are and we should not be ashamed to show others that. It is a level of comfort and trust that they will admire.
Just like you have to be ‘in it to win it’, you have to be involved in the worship to get the prize of unity with God.
Sing, shout, dance, laugh and be happy:
Love worship. Love GOD.
I am posting daily in my 40 day Lent series – hope you will join me for more tomorrow!
