Liebster Award!

LiebsterAward.pngA huge thank you to Abigail Irozuru for nominating me for the new blogger Liebster Award! It is lovely to see that my writing is being recognised in my mission to share God’s Word. Here is a link to the post she wrote in response to her Liebster Award nomination, My Fairytale Life.

I hope you enjoy finding out some more about me in my answers to Abigail’s brilliant questions!

What is the best book you have ever read and why?

It’s very hard to choose as I love hundreds of books! At the moment it would probably have to be Lost Horizon by James Hilton, as it gave such a wonderful message as to how we should live. It made me realise how important it is to feed our souls with knowledge in order to have a fulfilling life. I also found the book Heaven is for Real by Todd Burpo very moving for reasons explained in a previous post (Heaven is for Real).

If you were an animal, what would you be?

Definitely a cat! They embrace their freedom yet also love curling up nice and cosy – attention is always appreciated too!

You’ve had the worst day imaginable. How do you perk yourself up?

Chat about it with my mum – just letting someone else who loves me know how I feel helps a lot. I sometimes go out for a brisk walk and the fresh air is a natural up lifter, and also some good healthy comfort food makes you feel good about yourself. Also, praying and chatting to God about it helps me to realise that everything is for a reason and God has a bigger picture to consider. He loves me and things will get better as long as I trust Him.

If you had to change one thing in this world, what would it be and why?

I’d go for a big one and erase all war and conflict – I dream of a united world where everyone can live in peace with each other.

You find the time travel machine from Back to the Future! Where would you go back (or forwards) in time to and why?

This is a cool question. I think I would go back to the late 1800s before the two World Wars for the purpose of seeing how different the communities are without all the transport links. Are the people more close-knit? Is this a good thing? I also think it would be beneficial to experience a life without so many creature comforts in order to fully appreciate what we have now.

If you had to choose between these two superpowers – invisibility and flying – what would you choose? Why?

This is a tricky one, but I think I would choose to fly! Since I was very young I have always thought the freedom of flying must be the most exhilarating feeling. Imagine jumping off the ground and feeling lighter than air – wow!

What is your favourite Disney movie?

I’m not really into movies, but the two Princess Diaries films sparked a lot of imaginative games. My sister and I often pretended to be princesses (and being the oldest, obviously I was always in line to be queen!).

Name one thing you do or say to motivate you each day/week?

I pray every day, and it is through this that I realise how lucky I am. I only have to pray for those less fortunate than myself and I realise I have so little to moan about!

Besides blogging, what other hobbies or pastimes do you enjoy?

I love music – I play the flute and piano. I particularly enjoy playing in orchestras where we are able to make wonderful music together. I enjoy dancing, particularly ballet, which I must do more often! I am an avid reader and enjoy snuggling down in the evening with a good book. I also love baking, drawing and long walks.

Where will you be spending Thanksgiving this year, and what are you most thankful for?

In the UK, Thanksgiving is not recognised in the same way as in America. However at the moment I am particularly thankful for my health – it is something we mustn’t take for granted and therefore I am very blessed.

My blog is about success, health and wellness. What does success mean to you?

Success for me is not about winning things – these are lovely bonuses when they come which naturally I welcome, but I do not think it makes you happy. Success for me is not about having lots of money and material possessions – both can create a comfortable lifestyle but do not make you happy. For me, success is about making a difference to mine and other people’s happiness. Success for me is achieving my mission – to share God’s Word, which contains the only true key to finding success.

  1. Thank you so much for your wonderful post! I used to dance a lot, including ballet too and I absolutely love the Princess Diaries ! Thanks for the book suggestions – i’ll be adding these to my long reading list. P.S.. Your answer about success is lovely. Agreed – it isn’t about money or anything like that – but the pursuit of a purpose-driven, God-centred life. Yay! (But one of my ultimate peak successes would be an Olympic gold though hehe). I’m glad you accepted the nomination. I really enjoyed reading your responses.

    1. Thank you! Yes, I particularly loved the opportunity to think about success (but yes, an Olympic win would be AMAZING and I admire you for going for it!). I really enjoyed thinking about the questions and answering them 🙂 Thanks you again and God bless x
